Watching TV one can quickly relate to Tim Brown's recent questioning of economic givens and Hugh Graham's more thorough take on this. I'll call the current state of design as "Call Now!" Design: the sort of hyper-consumerism that makes me sick after 5 seconds in TV ads.
'Another Design is Possible' I'm sure, where wealth is measured more in terms of actual human values like happiness. A type of design that focuses on what matters.
And I don't mean the sort of charity design service that pretends to bring 'sustainable' solutions to other countries, from largely unsustainable origin countries.
